Why, hello there. Please appreciate this bottle of ranch dressing soda as I tell you what is up on this wonderful Wednesday.

What’s Up Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jaime Morrow. It’s a way for bloggers to stay connected to their audience as well as to each other by sharing tidbits on what’s been going on in their lives.

WHAT I RECENTLY READ — The last book that I read was The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair by Joel Dicker. This is a translated work and is categorized as a crime/thriller. It was highly entertaining with many plot twists and turns; I will be doing a full review on the novel in the near future.

WHAT I’M CURRENTLY READING — I’m working on People Who Eat Darkness by Richard Lloyd Parry as well as Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. I’m enjoying the latter much more than the former, which is a little disappointing considering I was really excited for PWED. Not saying that I”m not as excited for Jurassic Park; now this, ladies and gents, is most likely going to be one of my favorite books of the year. I’m loving the amount of detailed science in here; it’s like I’m back in one of my biology classes all over again and I don’t mind one single bit!

WHAT’S UP IN GENERAL — I volunteered at a family clinic last Friday with my aunt supervising as the nurse practitioner and I intended on going each Friday, but today I got a call from my aunt saying that her boss didn’t approve of me coming if I didn’t have malpractice insurance so now Plan B is to go to a volunteer-based clinic in town. I’m glad there is a Plan B because I really need these hours for getting into PA school. And while we’re on that topic, this month will be dedicated to working on manually inputting my transcript and filling out everything else on that application except for GRE test scores and the personal statement – those will be set for July.

I hope it all works out for the best. I really think I’m destined to work in healthcare. I felt completely at home at my aunt’s clinic as I had when I volunteered as a pre-dental student. This is what I want. This is me, and if I can’t obtain that goal, I will be devastated. But I won’t think about the ‘what ifs’ now. It’ll do nothing but ruin me.

ANYWAY — I hope you all are having a fabulous Hump Day.
